The Creek Nation Natural Resource Conservation Commission was awarded the Hall of Fame Award by the Oklahoma Association of Conservation Districts at the 78th Annual State Meeting, Legislative Banquet held February 29, 2016 at the Reed Convention Center, Sheraton Midwest City Hotel.
The theme was “Collaboration in Conservation: Partnering for Grassroots Solutions.” with topics on soil health, water quality, feral hogs, cover crops etc.
The Creek Nation’s Natural Resource Conservation Commission was established under tribal law on December 21, 2013, organized April 30, 2014 and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the U.S. Department of Agriculture in November 19, 2014.
Mr. Ed Mouss, of Henryetta, Chairman of the Commission received the award presented by Mr. Steve House, President of the OACD. Also in attendance were Commissioner(s) Mr. Robert Davis, of Coweta and Ms. Robin Jenkins, Holdenville.
