On Saturday March 22, 2014, the Mvskoke Women’s Leadership 2014 Awards dinner was held at the Muscogee (Creek) Nation’s Nutrition center located at the tribal complex north of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. The evening included dinner, entertainment provided by Flute player Scottie Harjo, and presentation of the 2014 Leadership awards.

Mvskoke Women’s Leadership is a women’s group supporting and promoting local activities for Native women in all aspects of physical, mental, and spiritual health. They provide a network and support system for the empowerment of all women in the Mvskoke Community. The Leadership Awards are to recognize and honor the dedication, strength, and excellence of who we are as Mvskoke women.

The recipients of the awards were nominated and chosen for their commitment to cultural preservation, leadership, and community service.
