There will be a lacrosse clinic happening on Saturday and Sunday involving high school kids and younger. Members for the Iroquois Nationals will be coaching the clinic along with one member of the Muscogee Creek Nation. The two share the cultural tie having played the oldest stick and ball sport that we know. Theirs is lacrosse, the Muscogee Creek have stickball. There will also be a social game with the Iroquois on Monday, February 18 at 11 a.m. at the headquarters in Okmulgee. Media is welcome. This is an excellent time for feature news and great storytelling piece with its cultural ties.
The Iroquois Nationals representatives will be at the MCN headquarters on Monday, February 18, 2013. Four representatives will be playing a social stickball game with a number of our tribal citizens.
The social game will start at 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on the south side of the Mound building where the festival stomp dance is held. The Chief’s office encourages you and/or available employees to attend this portion of their visit.
